What you’re looking at.

Ether is the native asset used on the Ethereum network, which supports transactions and programmable applications. The network, the token, and a fund holding tokens are different things.

Why it matters.

Digital assets appear frequently in market news, but understanding how a network works is separate from assessing the price and risk of its token. Custody and access deserve as much attention as the quote.

What this number cannot tell you.

Digital-asset prices can change sharply, trading occurs outside stock-market hours, and quotes can differ across venues. Custody failures, scams, liquidity problems, and technology risks can cause substantial or complete loss.

A question worth asking.

Who controls access, what protections apply, and how would a complete loss affect my goals?
